Registration

When the software is installed the product then needs to be registered.  Until the software is registered it remains in Demonstration Mode where some, but not all, of the functionality of the system is available. It is designed to enable a prospective user to become acquainted with the features of the system.

Registration is a process whereby Belina licences the software to be installed and used on a particular client computer.  The registration takes into account the 'Site Number' allocated to that computer, the number of employees allowed to be processed on that User licence and the expiry date of the User Licence.

If a registered system goes into Demonstration Mode some, but not all, of the functionality of the system is available.  It allows the user access to continue to process transactions, but it does not allow the Calculation Routine, Period End and Reports. The following events cause a system to go into Demonstration Mode:

The licence expiry date has lapsed:

The Belina Payroll HR license has a time limit, usually 3 months.  A new registration code is issued each time the license is renewed.

To check whether the license has expired:

- Go to the 'Setup' then 'Registration' menu options

- Check the 'Expiry Date'

- If it has expired contact Belina accounts department for a license renewal invoice.

For more information about how to do this see this link: registration.

Employees Exceeded:

The Belina Payroll HR license is valid for the number of employees on the User License. The number of employees may be exceeded by normal increase in employee numbers, but may also be affected by:

- not discharging employees properly

- having an unused, or non-current, payroll on the system that has not been marked as 'Dormant'. See FAQ topic: Dormant Payroll

Payroll moved:

If the payroll is moved from one folder to another, to another, disk drive or computer the registration details will change.  The system will automatically de-activate the User License, changing the 'Site Number' and putting the payroll into Demonstration Mode. The solution is to contact Belina to register the change of 'Site Number'.  A written confirmation of events should be sent by email.  We will email you back your new registration details.

New/ Re-installed Operating System:

If a new Operating System is installed the system will automatically de-activate the User Licence, changing the 'Site Number' and putting the payroll into Demonstration Mode. The solution is to contact Belina to register the change of 'Site Number'. A written confirmation of events should be sent by email.  We will email you back your new registration details.
