Labour Act Chapter 28:01 - Section 14 Sick leave
The Labour Act Chapter 28:01 stipulates that employees are entitled to be paid up to 90 calendar days sick leave at full pay and a further 90 calcendar days sick leave at half pay per annum. Any equivalent amount, e.g. an equivalent number of working days can also be used as long as the employee is not worse off than if calendar days were.

The Labour Act Chapter 28:01 stipulates that female employees are entitled to be paid up to 98 calendar days sick leave at full pay. See the extract, below, which details some of the conditions attached to this leave.

Occasional, Compassionate, Special Leave
Use the 'Occasional Leave' Transaction Type to process Special Leave described in the Labour Act Chapter 28:01 Section 14B, where it says that employees are entitled to receive 12 calendar days Occasional Leave per annum.
Labour Act Chapter 28:01 - Section 14B Special Leave Special leave on full pay not exceeding twelve days in a calendar year shall be granted by an employer to an employee— (a) who is required to be absent from duty on the instructions of a medical practitioner because of contact with an infectious disease; (b) who is subpoenaed to attend any court in Zimbabwe as a witness; (c) who is required to attend as a delegate or office-bearer at any meeting of a registered trade union representing employees within the undertaking or industry in which the employee is employed; (d) who is detained for questioning by the police; (e) on the death of a spouse, parent, child or legal dependant; (f) on any justifiable compassionate ground.

There is no legal requirement to award study leave to employees. This functionality has been provided to clients who wish to award this type of leave and maintain records of the transactions processed.

Sabbatical leave is most often used by educational institutions where their employees can take extended leave from work often for study, research and/ or travel.
