It is possible to set rules that apply to other types of leave. These include:
•the number of days
•the amount to be paid at full pay and at a reduced rate
•leave according to years service
The following table shows the default other leave rules that come set with any new payroll. To set a new leave rule, or to change an existing rule:
•Go to the 'Setup', then 'Other Leave' menu options
•The table displays the existing rules
•To change an existing rule highlight the rule to be changed, press 'Change' or double-click on the line
•Edit the parameters
•To Insert a new rule press 'Insert' and enter the parameters for that rule.
The fields are:
Leave Type |
Use the dropdown menu to select the type of leave that the rule will apply to. In the above example we have selected 'Study Leave'. |
Days From and To |
Enter a band of leave days. In the example above Study leave will be paid at 100% for any Study Leave taken from 1 day to a maximum of 5 days. No further bands have been set up so leave exceeding 5 days will not be paid. With sick leave often the second band of days is paid at a lower rate, usually 50%). |
Rate |
Enter the rate, or percentage of, the full amount that will be paid for the leave taken. |
Base on Years Service |
Tick the checkbox if this type of leave is applicable only if it is based on a minimum number of years service. In the example, above, Study leave is being paid for employees that have been employed for a minimum of 2 years. |
Years |
Enter the number of years minimum service in order to qualify for this type of leave |
Transaction Code |
Use the dropdown menu to select the Transaction Type that relates to this type of leave. |
Apply Custom Conditions |
Tick the checkbox is there are Custom Conditions that apply to this type of leave |
Maximum Applications Allowed |
Enter the maximum number of applications that can an employee can make for this type of leave. In this example we have set maximum number of times that an employee can apply for Study Leave whilst employed by the organization. |
Time Between Applications |
Enter the time that must elapse before another leave application of this type can be made again. In this example employees cannot apply for leave more than once in any six month period. |
