Global Defaults - Introduction

Global defaults are set to reduce the amount of time spent processing, most commonly used values come through automatically.   changes to data input by having the most .  The 'Setup'/ 'Global Defaults' menu option is used, primarily, to setup:

Currency

Convert the payroll to compute using a foreign currency

Emailing

Enable the sending of emails, including payslips,

Employee Master

Default values to come through in the Employee Masterfile

Leave  

Initialization of sick and other leave accumulations

Processing

Display order that employees or earnings/ deductions will be displayed

Reports

Whether reports will be printed to a laser or dot matrix printer

Security

Lock the payroll after selected processes

Communications

Setup various types of internal notifications
