The periods setup in the Payroll Module come through automatically into the Time Control Module. The period period information is shared between the modules, what is setup in one module is common to all the modules. The start and end dates for each period are important and work on cut-off dates for each period that give the payroll personnel sufficient time to process the transactions before the pay day.
Time data for each payroll period is kept separately. If the Payroll Module is not being used then it will be necessary to setup the period information in the Time Control Module.
To setup periods go to the 'Setup', then 'Periods' menu options:
The table below shows pay periods. If the Payroll Module is being used these come through from the payroll. Any changes made will affect the payroll.
Changes can be made to a single period by highlighting the period and clicking 'Change'. The 'Global Change' button allows changes to be made for the whole year. Changes should only be made after consultation with other stakeholders in your organization.
When 'Change' is selected the following screen is displayed:
The 'Start Date' and 'End Date' entries are the key fields on this screen. They affect the Time Card Display and all the Reports. Care should be taken when making changes to these dates.
Make any necessary changes and Click 'OK' to save changes.
