SCAT supported us a lot. Near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we received a laptop, cell phone, modem and data, so that when we could not be at our office, we could work from home. We also received money for the distribution of 400 face masks, 100 food parcels and 400 bars of soap from Hlanganisa. Our board members held regular meetings and played a supportive role during this time.

What I have learnt is that if we work in the community as a whole to do something together, then we can achieve more. If everybody wants to do something on their own, then we won’t be working for the community – we’ll be working against each other. I have learnt that our organisation is there to be that helping hand to the community.
